Sub-Saharan Africa – 49 of Africa's 54 states are located here. More than one billion people live in this region and the population growth is one of the largest in the world. Energy supply is a pressing problem in many of these countries, including Ethiopia and Uganda. But the two countries are facing further challenges in addition to the energy question.
